Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has expressed his main concern ahead of his side's highly anticipated showdown with Manchester United on Sunday, December 17.
The clash between the two English football powerhouses is always a highlight on the Premier League calendar, and this season, it's garnered even more attention due to Manchester United's inconsistent form.
Man United's woes this season
Under Erik ten Hag's second season in charge, the Red Devils have faced a turbulent run, marked by dismal performances leading to unwanted records, notably their Champions League campaign exit at the group stage.
Sportstar reported that United became the first Premier League team to finish at the bottom of a Champions League group twice, repeating their 2005/06 feat.
Their group stage struggles included conceding the most goals (15) ever by a Premier League side in a UCL campaign, with only one win secured.
Adding to their woes, the Old Trafford outfit might have to contend with the absence of 11 players for their Premier League clash against Liverpool, although Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford are fit for the showdown.
Injuries have plagued United this season, significantly impacting their performance on the field, as highlighted by MEN.
Liverpool vs Man United: What Klopp said
Despite Liverpool appearing as overwhelming favourites, Klopp remains cautious, acknowledging the unexpected turns that can arise in football, particularly regarding their opponents' situation.
“I never like it when the headlines about Manchester United aren't good before we play them, because then that's the game where they can put things right,”the 56-year-old said as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
