The 2023/24 Premier League Golden Boot race is heating up.

Mohamed Salah and Son Heung-min are hot on his heels after scoring in their respective matches over the weekend.

Premier League 2023/24 Top Scorers

1. Erling Haaland (Manchester City, 14 goals)

Haaland failed to add to his goal tally after missing Manchester City’s game against Luton last Sunday due to a foot injury.

According to manager Pep Guardiola, the Norwegian forward was dealing with a bone stress reaction in his foot.

He told BBC Sport that he doesn’t know when Haaland will return, but City are hoping their star striker will be fit for their first Club World Cup match scheduled for December 19.

2. Mohamed Salah (Liverpool, 11)

Salah made history on Saturday, becoming the fifth player in Liverpool’s storied history to score 200 goals for the club.

He accomplished the feat in the 2-1 win against Crystal Palace, scoring the equaliser in the 76th minute.

That second-half strike had some added significance as it was the Egyptian star’s 150th goal in the Premier League.

All but two of his goals in the English top flight came during his time with the Reds.

Salah moved to within three goals of Haaland for first place in the Golden Boot race after Matchweek 16.

3. Son Heung-min (Tottenham, 10)

Son became the third player to score in double-figures in the Premier League this season after nabbing a late goal in Tottenham’s 4-1 win over Newcastle on Sunday.

The South Korean star scored a penalty in the 85th minute after the Magpies’ Martin Dubravka brought him down inside the box, per The Guardian.

Son, who stretched his goal tally in the EPL this season to 10, helped Spurs snap their five-match winless run in the league.

He remained one goal behind Salah for second place in the Golden Boot race.

4. Jarrod Bowen (West Ham United, 9)

Bowen failed to find the back of the net against Fulham on Sunday as West Ham suffered a humiliating 5-0 loss at Craven Cottage.

It was a disappointing performance by Bowen, who had recently been on a tear in the Hammers’ travels.

He scored seven goals in West Ham’s last seven league matches on the road before the trip to Fulham.

The Englishman remains fourth in the Golden Boot race with nine goals.
