  • Manchester United have spent over £400 million since appointing Erik ten Hag
  • The Red Devils are having a depleted squad due to multiple injuries this season
  • The Dutch manager has doubts over the club’s activity in the January window

Erik ten Hag is uncertain whether Manchester United will be involved in the January transfer market despite having a depleted squad to compete with this season.

The Red Devils squad has been rocked by injuries this season, with most of the team having spent time on the sidelines, including new signing Mason Mount.

United's defence and midfield have been hit the most with injuries to Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, Casemiro, and Christian Eriksen, who are still all currently sidelined due to injury.

Despite ten Hag’s comments, Total Football Analysis xGold Supercomputer, via Sun Sport, has named three players who could fix different positions in the team.

Three players who could fix Man Utd squad

1. Antonio Silva

The Benfica player was named by supercomputer as an ideal candidate for United’s centre-back. A similar player to Arsenal defender William Saliba was picked as a replacement for out-of-favour Varane, who could be set to leave the club as early as next month. Per Metro UK, the 20-year-old is already on the club’s radar and has a release clause of £87mil.

2. Arthur Vermeeren

The Belgian wonderkid is considered an ideal choice for United’s midfield due to his versatility, allowing him to play as a 6 and 8. He is a player similar to Arsenal’s Declan Rice, which United was interested in before he moved to the Emirates Stadium. Per Goal, he’s already attracting interest from Arsenal, Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund and could cost just £17mil.

3. Evanilson

The 24-year-old Brazilian striker is similar to Manchester City goal machine Erling Haaland. Rasmus Hojlund is yet to have a goal in the Premier League, while Anthony Martial could leave the club at the end of this season. Evanilson is a perfect profile for United to consider. According to Fichajes, he is on United’s radar.
