  • Nemanja Matic recently opened up about the level of indiscipline he encountered at Man United
  • So much so that the players were forced to form an ‘internal disciplinary committee’ headed by Matic
  • The 35-year-old enjoyed a five-year spell at Old Trafford before he reunited with Mourinho at Roma

Former Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic has named two teammates who were always late for training at the club.

The Serbian spent more than five years with the Red Devils before he departed in 2022 for AS Roma.

According to Metro UK, Matic joined United from rivals Chelsea in the summer of 2017 in a £40 million deal.

His move to Old Trafford came after a two-year stint with the Blues and a three-year spell with Portuguese giants Benfica.

But according to the 35-year-old, there was a complete contrast in player discipline between Chelsea and United.

Speaking during an interview with YuPlanet, Matic disclosed that he was part of an ‘internal disciplinary committee’ during his five seasons at Old Trafford and was stunned by the difference in the level of discipline at both clubs.

"At Chelsea, players acted professionally, they were punctual and were never late for training but at United it happened almost every day," Matic said in an interview.
"Among the players who would always be late were Paul Pogba and Jadon Sancho and couple of other players," he continued.

Incredibly, both Pogba and Sancho have in the past been singled out for indiscipline by Jose Mourinho and Erik ten Hag.

So much so that Sancho has since been frozen out of the United squad, with his future at the club hanging in the balance.

Ten Hag addresses United revolt rumours

Earlier, Sports Brief also reported, that ten Hag addressed reports of a revolt within the Manchester United dressing room on Tuesday.

The embattled Dutch coach battled a fresh wave of criticism after his side’s 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United on Saturday.

In the wake of the defeat, ten Hag reportedly lost part of the dressing room after clashing with Anthony Martial during the match.
