  • Liverpool topped their Europa League group after beating LASK 4-0
  • Mo Salah scored his 199th Liverpool goal from the penalty spot on Thursday
  • At full-time, the Egyptian was caught in an awkward situation with a LASK player

One of the biggest pet peeves of being a global superstar is everyone wants a piece of you, even if it comes in the form of your clothes.

No one knows this better than Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah, who is almost guaranteed to leave games without his matchday shirts.

In November, Salah experienced the ugly side of fame as he was mobbed on the pitch during an AFCON qualifier against Sierra Leone. Some Liverpool fans claimed it was more of an attack on the winger than admiration from the culprits.

Weeks later, Salah had an interesting encounter with another fan, who happened to be his rival for 90 minutes on Thursday, November 30.

As reported on BBC, Salah was again on the scoresheet as Liverpool sank Austrian opponents LASK 4-0 at Anfield to top Group E.

His goal came in the 51st minute from the penalty spot after Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz gave the home side a 2-0 lead in the first half.

Salah’s goal was a landmark as it was his 199th strike in Liverpool colours, and he could make it 200 goals when his side faces Fulham on Sunday, December 3.

Gakpo rounded off another resounding performance from Jurgen Klopp’s side with a goal in added time, leaving the visitors at the bottom of the group.

LASK winger asks Salah for shirt

At full-time, cameras panned on Salah, and the Egyptian was casually strolling on the pitch when he was approached by LASK’s winger, Moses Usor.

Usor wasted no time approaching the Egyptian, who appeared to be taken aback by his opponent’s bold request, as seen in the video shared by @westlfc

After a brief interaction, Salah took off his jacket before taking off his matchday shirt for Usor, who walked away as soon as he got the souvenir.

The interaction was interesting to watch as it seemed Usor would have missed out on the shirt had he approached Salah a few seconds later.

Ronaldo ‘disappoints’ Iceland player

Only two weeks ago, there was a similar situation when Cristiano Ronaldo turned down an Iceland player who wanted his shirt since he had already given it away.

As Sports Brief reported, this happened the day Portugal ended their Euro 2024 qualifier campaign on a high with a 2-0 victory over Iceland.

Despite not finding the net, Ronaldo was a popular figure at the full-time whistle, for obvious reasons.
