Will it ever end?
The Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi debate is probably the longest-running football debate in history and every week, there's a fresh take from pundits and ex-footballers.
This time, it was Jamie Carragher who gave another take on the debate, and Ronaldo fans were outraged.
During the CBS Sports Champions League broadcast this week, the former Liverpool defender said the endless debate is not even close.
"Ronaldo is nowhere near the level of Messi. Ronaldo is one of the greatest goal-scorers of all time. Messi is the greatest player of all time. It's not even close," Carragher said via ESPN.
Many football fans considered the debate over when Messi led Argentina to the 2022 FIFA World Cup title, but Ronaldo fans are certain the Al-Nassr superstar is the GOAT.
Even the Argentine icon's eighth Ballon d'Or win didn't change a thing for fans of the Portuguese star.
The two legendary stars have each scored hundreds of goals, won plenty of trophies and broken countless records, and most lists have them in the top two greatest footballers ever.
