Manchester United are on the brink of an early Champions League exit after they dropped points against Galatasaray on Wednesday night.

They are languishing at the bottom of Group A, heading into Matchday 6.

Alejandro Garnacho took to social media to apologise to United fans after they squandered a winning opportunity in the group stage again.

Garnacho didn’t hold back when he addressed the supporters on Instagram after the 3-3 draw, writing:

Sorry United fans. This is the Champions League and we have to be aware of it and assume responsibilities. There is one game left and we will do everything possible.

Heartbreak for United in Istanbul

Garnacho looked like he was going to be the hero for United for the second game running, opening the scoring against Galatasaray with a superb left-footed strike in the 11th minute.

Bruno Fernandes then doubled United’s advantage in the 18th minute with a right-footed screamer from outside the box.

No lead is safe for United, though, and that was proven to be the case yet again on Wednesday night.

Hakim Ziyech halved the deficit in the 29th minute after the Galatasaray star scored a free-kick attempt.

Manchester United restored their two-goal edge in the 55th minute, with Scott McTominay turning in Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s cross.

Ziyech doubled his goal tally in the 62nd minute with another free-kick attempt that Onana blundered to trim the deficit to 3-2.

United’s lead vanished nine minutes later, with substitute Kerem Akturkoglu scoring the equaliser.

Ziyech's side eye goes viral

Sports Brief recently reported on Ziyech’s reaction to Garnacho scoring the opening goal for Manchester United.

The Moroccan was captured on video giving the Argentine star the side eye after the latter handed the Red Devils a 1-0 lead.

Garnacho copied Cristiano Ronaldo’s celebration again after that goal, doing the “Calma, Calma” celly.
