Manchester United and Erik ten Hag's woes could be further compounded after the international break after injuries to two first-team stars on duty for their national teams.

United went into the international break off the back of a 1-0 win over newly-promoted Luton Town, with defender Victor Lindelof giving the team the only goal.

Per Transfermarkt, the Red Devils have eight players out injured, including Argentine defender Lisandro Martinez and Dutch full-back Tyrell Malacia, who has not played this season.

The team have battled multiple players going on injuries, with Mason Mount and Aaron Wan-Bissaka having been on the treatment list at some point this season.

Rashford, Onana injured on international duty

Per SportBible, goalkeeper Andre Onana and forward Marcus Rashford were substituted in the second half of their countries’ games due to injuries.

Onana nearly saw out Cameroon’s 3-0 win over Mauritius but was forced off in the 81st minute and replaced by second-choice goalkeeper Fabrice Ondoa.

He had just returned to the Indomitable Lions squad after announcing his retirement following a disagreement with head coach Rigobert Song during the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Rashford was injured after a collision with England teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold and was replaced by debutant and Chelsea star Cole Palmer in the 61st minute of the 2-0 win over Malta.

Ten Hag would hope the injuries are not too serious. United set to travel to Goodison Park to face Everton after the break and a trip to Turkey to face Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League three days later.
