The 24-year-old also played a pivotal role as Medeama SC reached the group stage of the CAF Champions League.

According to Football Ghana, the performance of the forward against Al Ahly has seen him become a target of top clubs on the continent.

Meanwhile, the president of the club, Dr Tony Aubynn has confirmed interest in the forward but remains adamant about the player's future.

"Now, we do not want the player transferred to any club, but perhaps in the future, we will think about it," Dr Aubynn said to OnTime Sport, as quoted by snl24.com.

The Medeama boss said Sowah was a 'powerful force' for the team but admitted they had not set a specific price for him.

"There are no negotiations between Medeama and Al Ahly regarding Jonathan Sowah, and we have several clubs interested in the player, including Egyptian and European clubs."

Sowah has netted four goals in eight matches in the new Ghana Premier League season.
