  • Pep Guardiola has made his Premier League title prediction for this season
  • The Man City boss is predicting a gruelling title race pitting at least five more teams
  • Only four points are separating top-placed Arsenal and Spurs, who sit fourth

Pep Guardiola has boldly claimed that at least five teams can win the Premier League title ahead of Manchester City this season.

City are keen to retain the domestic crown for a record fourth consecutive season, having won it last season for the third straight season.

Arsenal looked on course to beat the Cityzen to the title last term, only for Guardiola's charges to mount a serious battle in the closing stages of the campaign.

This season, the Gunners are once again in the frame to challenge for the EPL title after an impressive start to the campaign.

The north Londoners are currently topping the charts with 30 points after 13 rounds of matches.

BBC reports that Arsenal climbed to the summit of the table after their 1-0 hard-fought win over Brentford, with Kai Havertz netting the vital goal.

Guardiola makes EPL title prediction

With only four points separating top-placed Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, who sit fourth, Guardiola is anticipating a gruelling Premier League title challenge.

According to the Spaniard, at least five teams, including Manchester United, are in the frame to challenge City for the crown.

"Absolutely," Pep admitted via Metro UK when asked if he believes Liverpool can rival City in the title race.
"I think Arsenal will be too. They are so solid. Spurs, even the two defeats they have had recently, I think they will be there. Chelsea have one game a week… so four or five contenders are there.
"Newcastle will maybe join. Manchester United will maybe join. Many things can happen," he continued.

Man City with best conversion rates

Sports Brief also reported on the Premier League teams with the best conversion rates as Manchester City come in second after 12 games.

Conversion rate takes into account the number of shots a team has had this season relative to the number of goals that have been scored.

In this sense, Manchester United ranks relatively low in terms of their conversion rate as they have been among the bluntest clubs in the EPL this season.
