Players of the senior national team of Ghana, the Black Stars, have started arriving ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar and Comoros Islands.

The Black Stars will host Madagascar on Friday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium before travelling to Comoros three days later.

All 26 players invited by coach Chris Hughton are expected to report on Monday evening as preparations begin for the crucial games.

In photos shared on social media, a handful of players, including the e returning Idrissu Baba, have reported to camp.

Training will begin on Tuesday in Accra before the team flies to Kumasi to continue preparations for Friday's game.

A press conference will be held on Thursday as coach Chris Hughton answers questions over his latest call-up.

Meanwhile, the Madagascar team is expected to arrive in Ghana on Wednesday and train at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Thursday.

Ghana are chasing a fifth FIFA World Cup appearance, having twice gone beyond the group stage.

The four-time African champions exited the tournament in the first round in Brazil and Qatar, as reported by CNN.

Andre Ayew returns to Black Stars squad

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Black Stars captain, Andre Ayew has returned to the squad as Ghana coach Chris Hughton named his team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar and Comoros.

The 33-year-old missed the international friendlies against the United States and Mexico last month but has been recalled for the November international assignment.

The four-time African champions will host Madagascar on November 17 before travelling to Comoros Island for their second Group I game three days later.

Andre Ayew joins Le Havre in France

Sports Brief also reported that Black Stars captain, Andre Ayew has joined Le Havre AC after five months without a club.

The 33-year-old returned to Europe to sign a deal that will see him stay at the French club until the end of the 2023/24 season.

The former Olympique Marseille forward is expected to play a key role at the club due to his enormous experience in the French league.
