In a list released by the Ghana FA on Thursday, Ayew joins the team alongside Majeed Ashimeru, Abdul Mumin Sulemaiman, Baba Iddrisu, and Jojo Wollacott.

Meanwhile, the team will miss Arsenal star Thomas Partey, who is out with an injury that has kept him out since his return from the October international break.

Goalkeeper Manaf Nurudeen has been dropped; while defender Joseph Aidoo has been ruled out for six months due to an injury he picked up in the friendly against Mexico, as reported by 3news.com.

The West African giants hope to start the 2026 FIFA World Cup on a bright note as the country eyes another appearance at the global showpiece.

Thomas Partey ruled out of World Cup qualifiers

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Partey will miss the World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar and Comoros Island due to injury.

The Arsenal midfielder is out with an injury, and his return date remains doubtful, with two weeks remaining to begin the qualifiers.

The 30-year-old scored the crucial goal that qualified the Black Stars for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Arteta worried over Partey's injury

Sports Brief also reported that Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta is worried over Partey's niggling injury problems.

The Ghana international was ruled out of the Gunners' Carabao Cup game against West Ham United after picking up an injury before their UEFA Champions League match against Sevilla.

Partey has only seen 20 minutes of action after recovering from an earlier injury that kept him out since August.
