  • Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has finally scored in Ligue 1 this season
  • He scored Olympique Marseille's second goal in their 3-0 win over Le Havre in a 3-0 win
  • The win was their third of the season in the league

Former Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang bagged his first goal in Ligue 1 since 2013 to help Olympique Marseille beat newly promoted side Le Havre 3-0.

It was also the first win for new manager Gattuso, who was hired late last month after Marcelino stepped down just weeks into the season.

The 34-year-old former Borussia Dortmund striker scored Marseille's second after Le Havre's Arouna Sangante had scored an own goal in the early stages. Former Watford winger Ismaila Sarr scored the third late in the game following Aubameyqang's cheeky assist.

Aubameyang joined Marseille in July from Chelsea and has now scored five goals in 11 appearances.

The last time he had scored a goal in Ligue 1 was in April 2013 when he scored a brace for Sain-Etienne against Ajaccio, per Squawka.

The 2015 African Player of the Year has now scored 42 Ligue 1 goals in 128 appearances.

Aubameyang makes Europa League history

Aubameyang is closing in on the history books as he became the second-joint top scorer in the history of the UEFA Europa League.

The Gabonese international, who now plies his trade for Marseille, was crucial for the crisis-stricken French side as they dug out a 3-3 draw against Ajax on Thursday, September 21.

He now has 26 goals in the competition, tying him with Athletic Club legend, Aritz Aduriz. Radamel Falcao, who is currently on 30 goals, currently tops the list.

Aubameyang's regretful video goes viral

Sports Brief previously reported that a video of Aubameyang 'regretting' leaving the Emirates Stadium has gone viral, as Chelsea suffered a humiliating season.

Auba was part of the limp Blues squad that struggled all season, finishing outside the top 10 in the Premier League for the first time since the league was formed.
