FootballHarry Maguire: Man United Star Snubs Bruno Fernandes Names Ronaldo As the Best He Has Played With
- Manchester United star Harry Maguire heaped praise on Cristiano Ronaldo
- Maguire played alongside Ronaldo for a season and a half before the latter's departure to Al-Nassr
- Both have currently rediscovered their form in their respective clubs
Manchester United defender Harry Maguire spoke highly of Cristiano Ronaldo, labelling him as the finest player he has had the privilege of playing alongside.
Despite having had the opportunity to share the pitch with numerous other football icons, Maguire singled out Ronaldo for his exceptional abilities and impact on the game.
During Ronaldo's second stint with the Red Devils, Maguire had the opportunity to witness the Portuguese star's prowess firsthand.
Ronaldo's dream return to Man United was met with some turbulence, notably following a contentious interview with British broadcaster Piers Morgan amid a challenging start to the 2022-2023 season, as cited by ESPN.
Cristiano had to bid farewell to the Premier League club, eventually making a move to Al-Nassr following the 2022 World Cup.
Since then, he has displayed a reinvigorated form, impressively showcasing his skills and contributing significantly to his current team's success in the ongoing campaign similar to that of Maguire, who fell below the pecking order.
Nonetheless, he has successfully reclaimed his spot in Erik ten Hag's starting lineup, featuring in the last five matches for the club and even adding a goal to his name during this run.
When asked about the most exceptional footballer he has had the honour of playing with, the 30-year-old initially acknowledged the wealth of talent he has encountered on the field before ultimately settling on the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo.
“I’ve been fortunate to play with a lot of good players, but I’d have to go with Cristiano [Ronaldo]. Obviously he’s a legend of the game & probably the greatest ever to do it,” he said as cited by The Nassr Zone.
