As reported by Madrid Zone, Mikel Camps, an executive board spokesperson of the Catalan club, took to social media to talk about Vinicius.

Referring to the young forward's show of skill during the game, he posted a tweet which was translated as follows:

"It's not racism. He deserves a slap for being a clown. These stepovers are unnecessary and meaningless on a football pitch."

Vinicius' teammates were quick to jump to his support, and following the conclusion of the match, forward Rodrygo labelled the tweet as 'embarrassing' in his post-match interview.

The now-deleted tweet has also been met with lots of backlash from fans across social media.

This controversy unfolded just days before the highly anticipated El Clasico match, further intensifying the age-old rivalry between the two iconic clubs.
