  • Tottenham Hotspur's unbeaten start to the season was brought to a grinding halt on November 6
  • Chelsea maximised on Spurs' two red cards to beat their London rivals 4-1
  • The defeat sees Arsenal's long-standing record survive for another season

Mauricio Pochettion enjoyed a memorable but scrappy return to Tottenham Hotspur after he led his side to a 4-1 win on November 6.

The clash in North London was punctuated by constant referee whistles and intervention from the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) in the first half.

Chelsea finally got the win over the line, coming from a goal down to record their third successive away win. Dejan Kulusevski had put Spurs ahead in the 6th minute, but the game got out of their reach with a series of misfortunes.

Christian Romero was sent off for a high tackle on Enzo Fernandez inside the area. Cole Palmer duly converted the resultant spot-kick. The home side then lost Micky van de Ven and James Maddison to injuries at the start of the lengthy first-half stoppage time.

Destiny Udogie was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 55th minute. Despite the superior numerical advantage, the Blues still struggled to break down their London rivals.

They finally got it going with Nicholas Jackson bagging his first Chelsea hat-trick in the 75th, 90 plus 4 and 90 plus 7 minutes to seal off the win.

What Arsenal record remains intact?

The result sees Spurs lose their unbeaten record this season. Prior to this game week, Postecoglou was yet to taste defeat in the Premier League alongside their North London rivals Arsenal. The Gunners fell to Newcastle United at St.James Park on November 4.

It, therefore, means that Arsenal's 2004 record of going the whole season unbeaten will stand for yet another season. No club has been able to replicate that fete of the Arsene Wenger super team and with Spurs going down to Chelsea, that record can now not be broken this season.
