Betting on Manchester United (2.20)

The pressure is mounting on manager Erik ten Hag and captain Bruno Fernandes after the Red Devils produced an abysmal performance in the Manchester derby over the weekend.

They had no answer for Erling Haaland, who scored a double in Manchester City's 3-0 victory.

United are now 11 points behind leaders Tottenham Hotspur after just 10 matches in the 2023-24 Premier League season.

United will now shift their attention to the Carabao Cup, where they will face Newcastle in the round of 16 this Wednesday. It is a rematch of last season's Carabao Cup final, which United won 2-0.

Casemiro is in a race against time to be fit for the fourth-round clash. The Brazilian midfielder missed the game against Manchester City after picking up an ankle injury during international duty, per Manchester Evening News.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka returned to full training last week and is in contention to play some minutes against Newcastle.

Kobbie Mainoo is expected to see action in the Carabao Cup after being an unused substitute in the loss to City.

Betting on Newcastle United (3.28)

It's been a tough week for Newcastle United on and off the pitch.

The Magpies failed to win for the second game running as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Wolves in the Premier League last Saturday.

They also lost star player Sandro Tonali for the rest of the season after he was handed a 10-month ban by the Italian Football Federation for breaching betting rules, per the BBC.

Manager Eddie Howe has confirmed that he is not expecting his injured stars to return for this Carabao Cup clash. They include Alexander Isak, Sven Botman, Jacob Murphy, Elliot Anderson, and Harvey Barnes.

Callum Wilson starred for Newcastle in the draw against Wolves, scoring twice in the first half. He has scored the most goals in the Premier League since April, with 18.

He didn't see action for the Magpies in their last Carabao Cup game against Manchester City. Newcastle won that match 1-0 to oust the Premier League champs.

West Ham vs. Arsenal Betting Preview

Sports Brief recently also previewed the round of 16 match between West Ham and Arsenal.

The Gunners are coming off an impressive 5-0 victory over Sheffield United, with Eddie Nketiah scoring a hat-trick.

They will look to continue their winning ways against the Hammers, who have lost all of their three matches since the international break.
