Brazil's legendary midfielder, Ronaldinho Gaucho continues to capture hearts wherever he ventures, even after his retirement.

The former Barcelona midfielder, who thrilled fans with his dazzling skills and abilities during his playing days, continues to set fans abuzz despite having called time from football years earlier.

Recently, the 43-year-old icon sparked excitement during his two-day visit to India, leaving an indelible mark.

The former Barcelona ambassador was scheduled to inaugurate a Durga Puja pandal in Kolkata, West Bengal, among a host of other ceremonial activities, as reported by IndiaToday.

Ronaldinho also celebrated the Indian culture in his distinctive attire, as he was seen conducting an aarti (puja) ceremony.

However, amid the flurry of the ceremonial act the 2002 World Cup winner performed, it was his tribute to Argentine football great, Diego Armando Maradona that sparked the biggest reactions.

Ronaldinho's tribute to Maradona

The former Milan midfielder, as seen in the video shared by Marca, made time to lay flowers at the feet of the statue of Maradona in the city during his numerous activities.

Ronaldinho names players better than Messi

Sports Brief has also reported that Ronaldinho once made controversial comments when he was asked about Lionel Messi's place in football history.

The Argentine is often regarded as the best player ever, alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, with the two dominating every top competition for close to 15 years.

One would have thought that having seen and trained with Messi first-hand, Ronaldinho would jump at a chance to declare him the best footballer ever.
