In photos shared on social media, Alvarez was spotted comforting Kudus, who looked disappointed following Ghana's defeat to the North Americans.

Alvarez and Kudus have been teammates since their days at Ajax before both made the move to England in the summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, in an exciting match, Hirving Lozano and Uriel Antuna were on target for Mexico while Kudus came close with a fine strike from distance in the second-half.

The Black Stars will next play the United States of America on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, in Tennessee with Mexico facing former World Champions, Germany, as reported by mlssoccer.com.

Following a barren first-half, the North Americans had an explosive start to the second-half after Lozano broke the deadlock following a quick set-piece by Mexico.

Substitute Antuna doubled the lead with 19 minutes remaining after a mistake from Nicholas Opoku led to a quick break by El Tri.
