According to ESPN, United forked out an eyewatering transfer fee of €50 million to land the services of the Cameroonian shotstopper.

However, the former Ajax ace has endured a frustrating start to life at the Theatre of Dreams amid United's ongoing struggles across competitions.

Onana has made a string of high-profile goalkeeping gaffes, with reports claiming Erik ten Hag is open to dropping him as his No.1 should the struggles intensify.

Inter chief speaks on re-signing Onana

Inter CEO Marotta has now weighed in about the possibility of Onana returning to the club one day.

While Marotta admitted he could not predict the future, he refused to rule out the chances of the Cameroon international making a return to Italy.

“I can’t predict the future but… in football anything can happen," Marotta told Gazetta, per transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
“For sure it was great chapter for Onana and for us. It was also successfull deal to sign him for free and sell for that money," the Inter chief added.

Did de Gea troll United on social media?

Sports Brief also reported on former Red Devils keeper, David de Gea possibly trolling Man United on social media after the UCL loss to Galatasaray.

The Spaniard's replacement, Onana had another dismal outing against the Turkish side and fans believe de Gea's post was a jab at his former side.

The Spanish goalkeeper, who is yet to find another club, uploaded a picture of what appeared to be him smiling alongside a group of friends.
