- The veteran midfielder has managed just minutes for Los Blancos this campaign
- Modric wants to fight for the place he has lost in the first team to Jude Bellingham
Luka Modric is displeased with his current status at Real Madrid as the veteran midfielder seeks to play more games for the Spanish giants after being sidelined almost all season.
The 38-year-old midfielder has been outshone by Jude Bellingham, who has become the star of Los Blancos since his summer arrival from Bundesliga giants, Borussia Dortmund.
According to GOAL, Modric has claimed he is physically well and confessed he hates sitting on the bench, but also respects Carlo Ancelotti’s decision not to involve him in too many games.
"I don't want to be out. I just want to play, if necessary every three days, because I feel physically well. Everything that happens around me is a normal process so I simply accept it like that. I have to mentally prepare for this situation. Accept and move on."
Modric has played in seven matches for Real Madrid this season, accumulating 391 minutes on the pitch for the 14-time UEFA Champions League champions.
Modric open to Messi link-up
Meanwhile, Modric’s claims that he wants more playing time after being sidelined by Real Madrid this season have opened the door for a possible link-up with Lionel Messi at Inter Miami, AS Soccer reports.
The 38-year-old midfielder has been strongly linked with a move to Major League Soccer, with David Beckham keen to bring him to Miami to create a super team with Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba.
Modric has started only four of 11 games across all competitions for the Spanish giants this season and could perhaps be open for a Real Madrid exit in order to get more playing time elsewhere.

FootballModric hails Real Madrid wonderkid Guler
Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Real Madrid's Modric showering praise on Arda Guler, referring to the youngster as a 'once-in-a-generation' player.
The 18-year-old, often compared to Lionel Messi due to his shared characteristics, completed a €20 million move from Fenerbahce this summer.
Unfortunately, Guler has been unable to exhibit his skills at Real Madrid due to a meniscus injury he sustained in pre-season, necessitating surgery.
