  • The Brazilian forward has named the best goal of his career so far

Vinicius Jr.'s transformation from a lowly Brazilian prodigy to one of Europe's elite remains a footballing growth one can only marvel at.

Ahead of the club's La Liga fixture against Girona, the 23-year-old forward recently sat in an interview where he touched on his favourite goal of his career so far, amongst other things.

Vinicius names best goal of his career

The Brazilian forward who has found the back of the net 61 times for Los Blancos, as reported by Whoscored, was asked to make a pick for the best goal of his career so far.

Quite surprisingly, Vinicius Jr who has scored a couple of worldies, including his match-winning strike against Sevilla in November 2021, opted for the two-yard sitter he scored in the club's UEFA Champions League final against Liverpool in Paris.

As quoted by Madrid Universal, he said:

"Best goal of my career so far? The Champions League final."

Vinicius' 59th-minute strike on the night was enough to guide Carlo Ancelotti's side to their record-extending 14 UCL title.

The young forward who again looks set to lead the Spanish powerhouse attack this season following the departure of striker Karim Benzema will now shift his focus to guiding Los Blancos' to victory in the club's La Liga clash against Catalan Girona.

Vinicius Jr names childhood idol

Sports Brief in a previous report stated Real Madrid attacker Vinicius Jr has named his childhood footballing hero.

The forward who recently returned from a lengthy injury layoff, disclosed his choice of his childhood footballing hero, amongst a few other topics in an interview.

The 23-year-old Brazilian snubbed Cristiano Ronaldo, whom he has often shown huge admiration and his long-standing rival Lionel Messi in favour of his Brazilian teammate Neymar Jr.
