Super Eagles star, Victor Boniface has reportedly caught the eye of Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, as the Spanish seeks a rival for Erling Haaland.

The former Bodø/Glimt striker's performance this season has now reportedly impressed one of the top sides in Europe's top five leagues.

Premier League champions, Manchester City are said to be monitoring the Nigerian international as Guardiola seeks a rival for his target man, Haaland, according to a report by Fichajes.

The Bayer Leverkusen forward is a type of striker that fits into the former Barcelona manager's style of play, as he is not only just about goals but can give more options in attack.

The Citizens are not the only European club side believed to be monitoring the 22-year-old, with Serie A giants, Juventus also on the lookout for an opportunity to swoop in.

Boniface is said to be focused on finishing strong in Germany as he continues to impress but might consider a move in the summer if a good offer comes in from another club.

Boniface equals Haaland’s record, beats Kane

Sports Brief previously reported on Boniface equalling a record of Haaland as well as beating English captain, Harry Kane to a Bundesliga award.

The Nigerian youngster beat the striker to the award for the top player in August, after scoring four goals in three appearances for Leverkusen.

Boniface also bagged the 'Rookie of the Month' award to equal Haaland's record as the second player to win both the league awards in a month.
