  • Gabriel Agbonlahor has advised Arsenal to sell Thomas Partey
  • The Ghana international is currently unavailable due to injury
  • Agbonlahor insists that Arsenal should invest in a long-term replacement

Former England striker, Gabriel Agbonlahor believes it is time for Arsenal to let Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey leave over his 'inconsistency' at the London club.

Partey is currently out due to an injury which has kept him on the sidelines since the game against Fulham on August 26, 2023.

Agbonlahor lamented over the midfielder's unavailability and feels the Gunners are not benefitting from his continuous stay at the club.

“I would let him go,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider, as quoted by 3news.com. “Some games he’s poor, some games he’s very good, and some games he is injured.
“When you sit down and work it out, is he giving you more than 50% of a season of his best football? Is he doing enough? If I was Arsenal I’d sell him if the money’s right. I think they were trying during the summer.
“I would look at a long-term replacement because as much as he’s a good player, the injuries will just get worse the older he gets.”

Partey has made only three Premier League appearances this season.

The 30-year-old joined Arsenal in the summer of 2020 and has since been an integral part of the team, as reported by Transfermarkt.

Partey misses AFCON qualifier

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Partey was excluded from the Ghana squad that faced the Central African Republic in the final 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Partey has reportedly picked up an injury and will be out for a while, leaving Chris Hughton with no option but to name his team without his deputy captain.

The Black Stars secured qualification to the tournament in Ivory Coast after beating the Central African Republic in Kumasi without their deputy captain.

Partey's ex-girlfriend starts relationship with teammate

The ex-girlfriend of Arsenal star Thomas Partey, Gifty Boakye seems to have moved on after she was spotted with US-based Ghanaian footballer, Yaw Yeboah.

The fashion model and Yeboah looked to be in love after a video of their romantic relationship was shared on social media.

Yeboah, who plays for Columbus Crew, is also a member of the senior national team of Ghana, although he has not received a call-up in recent times.
