Super Eagles star, Victor Osimhen has reportedly apologised to Napoli manager, Rudi Garcia and his teammates after his touchline outburst after being substituted during the goalless draw against Bologna.
The Nigerian striker had the opportunity to give the Partenopei the win but missed from the penalty spot.
Osimhen was later substituted for Giovanni Simeone after 86 minutes and was visibly unimpressed with his French coach's tactics at that point.
The former Lille striker flared up after Garcia substituted him despite his team needing a goal, making a gesture that seemed to indicate that he thought having two strikers on the pitch at that point was important.
However, the French manager clearly did not agree and the game ended in a deadlock as the defending champions continued their early-season struggles.
According to Calciomercato (as per Football Italia), the Nigerian international apologised to the manager and his teammates in the locker room immediately after the full-time whistle.
Fans have commended the former Wolfsburg striker for realising his error and attempting to make it right.
Osimhen is still struggling in front of goal this term, having not scored for Napoli in the last four games across all competitions. He has only scored three times in Serie A this campaign.
Napoli's next game in the Italian league comes against Udinese tonight (September 27).
