Former Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan is full of praise for midfielder Mohammed Kudus following his outstanding display during Ghana's game against the Central African Republic.

The newly-signed West Ham United player scored a sensational freekick as Ghana came from a goal down to beat CAR in Kumasi.

The 23-year-old has scored five goals and provided three assists in ten AFCON qualifying games as the four-time African champions return to the Nations Cup.

Gyan, who retired in June, watched the game against the Central African Republic and was impressed with the performance of the former Ajax player.

"I loved how Kudus played. He was more composed and released the balls at the right time. For me, he is the Star man in this Black Stars team at the moment. More room for improvement," wrote Gyan on X.

The Central African Republic game Ghana an early scare after Louis Mafouta opened the scoring in the 25th minute.

Kudus responded with a stunning freekick before second-half substitute Ernest Nuamah sealed victory late in the game.

The Black Stars begin preparations ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with a friendly against Liberia on Tuesday, as reported by ghanasoccernet.com.

Kudus scores as Ghana beat CAR

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ernest Nuamah climbed off the bench to score the winner as the Black Stars came from a goal down to beat the Central African Republic and qualify for AFCON 2023.

Mohammed Kudus cancelled an early strike from Louis Mafouta as Ghana went into the break level.

The visitors got off to a great start, winning the first corner of the game in the 6th minute, but failed to take advantage of the set-piece.

West Ham fan travels to watch Kudus

A West Ham United fan travelled all the way from London to watch Ghana midfielder Mohammed Kudus play for the Black Stars against the Central African Republic.

The newly-signed West Ham player delivered after scoring a sensational free-kick to help the Black Stars beat the Central African Republic and qualify for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
