Ghanaian forward, Jordan Ayew has been voted the Player of the Month for August at Crystal Palace.

He also inspired the Eagles to a comeback win in the EFL Cup game against Plymouth Argyle.

"It’s been a while – a very long time since I’ve gotten a trophy as well!" Ayew told Palace TV. "I’d just like to thank everyone – the fans, the club and the staff – for supporting me since Roy [Hodgson] has come in," he added.
"He’s been really good to me and putting me into positions where I can express myself and feel more comfortable. He gives me the freedom to express myself and as a player that’s all you can ask for.
"Every game I try to tell myself that I need to be efficient and make something happen. At the moment, things are going well. It's still the start of the season, there are still a lot of games to go, and hopefully it'll continue."

The experienced forward has been named in Ghana's squad for the AFCON qualifier against the Central African Republic, as reported by ghanafa.org.

Ayew will travel to Ghana on Monday to begin preparations ahead of Thursday's crucial game.

Ayew eyes success with Palace

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ayew is eager to get going in the new English Premier League season, as Crystal Palace take a trip to Bramall Lane to face returnees Sheffield United.

The 31-year-old remains one of the most experienced players in the Palace team following the departure of Wilfried Zaha in the summer transfer window.

Ayew has been preparing for the new campaign with the rest of his teammates following a pre-season tour of the United States.
