According to Metro UK, the hosts were left ruing countless goalscoring chances earlier on before Anthony Elanga's goal in the second half settled the match.

The defeat was Chelsea's second under Pochettino in four Premier League outings, with two other fixtures ending in victories.

The latest setback sparked boos from the home fans after the full-time whistle, with supporters openly expressing their disappointment with the result.

Pochettino reacts to Chelsea boos

Pochettino was asked after the match if he was worried about the boos, with the Argentine admitting he understands the fans' frustrations.

"You can understand the people that came from the past and want to see the team to win and play well," Pochettino was quoted saying by Football London.
"The fans want to win and we need to give the possibility for them to be happy, yes, we need to keep working, we need to be positive.
"I understand we are in Chelsea and you should win every single game," he added.

Chelsea will play Bournemouth on Sunday, September 17, after the international break.

Silva hits back at fans

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Thiago Silva appeared to have had enough of Chelsea fans calling for his head after a poor start to the season, but he also accepts responsibility if fans are putting pressure on him.

The 38-year-old veteran stayed on to fulfil the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge despite speculations he could return to his home country of Brazil and amidst offers from Saudi Arabia.

Thiago turns 39 soon, and a decline is already happening to his performance despite his longevity in his career, and fans are beginning to become wary of that.
