  • Chelsea suffered their second loss of the season at home to Nottingham Forest
  • Mauricio Pochettino kept faith in the formation and personnel he has used since the season started
  • Thiago Silva was scapegoated by many fans who are clamouring for him to be dropped

Thiago Silva appears to have had enough of Chelsea fans calling for his head after a poor start to the season, but he also accepts responsibility if fans are putting pressure on him.

The 38-year-old veteran stayed on to fulfil the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge despite speculations he could return to his home country of Brazil and amidst offers from Saudi Arabia.

Thiago turns 39 soon, and a decline is already happening to his performance despite his longevity in his career, and fans are beginning to become wary of that.

As noted by Sky Sports, Taiwo Awoniyi's pass to set up Anthony Elanga for the only goal went through Silva's legs, an unusual thing that has left fans critical.

Silva responds to Chelsea fans

The loss to Nottingham Forest was a generally poor day for the team and a more disastrous tactical approach from Pochettino, who had Ben Chilwell playing as a winger.

As spotted by Chelsea Dodgers, a fan talkcfc on Instagram was critical of the veteran's performance and claimed his presence in the team was limiting the team as he is not suited anymore, and the Brazilian responded.

"If you look closely at the game, we are playing with a line of 4 my friend! But there's no problem in assuming that I'm also responsible for the defeat. put the pressure on me no problem yesterday!" Silva replied.

In Silva's defence, he spent most of his career playing in back-four set-ups at AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain. His outburst, however, could be proof of a bigger problem after he was overlooked for the captaincy and wasn't in the leadership group.

Pochettino responds to Chelsea fans boo

Sports Brief reported that Chelsea fans booed the players after their embarrassing home loss to Nottingham Forest due to their shambolic performance.

Pochettino understands the pain of the fans, who have been used to winning but have seen the majority of the opposite in the past year despite Poch being the fourth permanent manager.
