Cristiano Ronaldo cast a shadow over Arsenal's aspirations for the Premier League title ahead of the final day of fixtures on Sunday, May 19.

Despite Arsenal's fervent desire to end their 20-year title drought, their fate remains uncertain as they face Everton, knowing their destiny isn't entirely within their control with the title race reaching its climax.

Their rivals, Manchester City, hold a two-point advantage at the league's summit with just one match remaining.

Should Pep Guardiola's side triumph over West Ham at the Etihad, they will emerge as Premier League champions for an unprecedented fourth consecutive time.

Regrettably for the Gunners, Man City boasts an impressive record against West Ham, being unbeaten in their last 16 encounters in the Premier League.

According to talkSPORT, the Hammers have struggled at the Etihad, managing only one victory and suffering 15 defeats in their 17 Premier League away matches against City.

Barring a miraculous turn of events, the Citizens appear destined to secure the title, leaving Arsenal to settle for runners-up for the second time in a row.

Ronaldo trolls Arsenal's title ambitions

In a foreboding statement, Ronaldo, who notably represented Manchester United, City's cross-town rivals, dismissed any hopes of the Gunners lifting the trophy ahead of the league leaders.

"You [Arsenal] are not going to win the league," CR7 jokingly remarked via The Nassr Zone to English boxing promoter and avid Arsenal supporter Frank Warren at the Kingdom Arena.

The Al-Nassr superstar, a regular attendee at boxing events in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, made the announcement while joining other VIP guests at the historic heavyweight unification bout between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury.

What happened in the Fury vs Usyk bout?

Sports Brief also reported that Ukrainian boxer, Oleksandr Usyk, achieved a historic victory by defeating Tyson Fury at the Kingdom Arena in Saudi Arabia, securing the undisputed heavyweight championship.

In a closely contested bout, Usyk won via split decision, marking Fury's first career defeat in Riyadh.

The judges' scorecards reflected Usyk's dominance, with two judges scoring 115-112 and 114-113 in favour of Usyk, while one judge scored 114-113 for Fury.
