The last time the pair accomplished that feat was on June 13, 2020, when they both played for the Catalan giants.

Alba scores for Inter Miami

Alba scored his first goal for his new team in first-half stoppage time to give Inter Miami a 3-0 lead.

The Spanish star was streaking down the left side after Robert Taylor stole the football.

He took full advantage once Union goalkeeper Andre Blake challenged too far away from his net, applying a fine finish into the open goal.

Messi continues goal spree

Messi had earlier given Inter Miami a 2-0 lead after firing a stunning long-range strike in the 20th minute.

The Argentine took a pass near midfield from Josef Martinez, who hit the ground hard after a challenge from a Philadelphia player, per USA Today.

Messi found some space after going on a run, firing a left-footed bullet from distance into the bottom corner past Union goalkeeper, Andre Blake.

The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner has now scored in each of his first six matches for Inter Miami, dating back to his debut against Cruz Azul on July 21.

He has netted nine goals during that six-game stretch in the Leagues Cup.

Messi swaps jerseys with Carranza

Messi continued his tradition of swapping jerseys with fellow Argentine players in the game against Philadelphia.

He exchanged shirts with Philadelphia Union forward Julian Carranza after the match.

Sports Brief reported that he had previously exchanged jerseys with Argentina stars Thiago Almada and Alan Velasco.
