Arsenal vs. Nottingham Forest Preview

Where: Emirates Stadium, London

When: Saturday, August 12, 12:30 pm BST

Line: Nottingham Forest +1400 at Arsenal -550, draw +600; total: 3.5

Betting on Arsenal (-550)

Arsenal could name the same lineup that started their Community Shield victory against Manchester City, with new recruits Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber, and Kai Havertz expected to play in their first league match for the Gunners.

They will fancy their chances of grabbing all three points on Saturday as they have fared extremely well against Forest at home of late.

The Gunners are unbeaten in their last 12 home matches against the Tricky Trees, recording eight wins and four draws during that span, including a pair of 5-0 victories at the Emirates, per the BBC.

Arsenal are prone to slip-ups, though, when starting their league campaign at home.

The Gunners have lost their opening Premier League match in four of the last six seasons when starting the season at their home ground.

Betting on Nottingham Forest (+1400)

Nottingham Forest did very well in order to stave off relegation last season and stay in the Premier League one more year.

However, their home form was primarily to thank for their survival.

Their away form, on the other hand, was the worst in the league. They won just one of their 19 games away from the City Ground, with 13 defeats.

Forest have made three signings thus far this summer, acquiring Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga, full-back Ola Aina and Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Turner.

Taiwo Awoniyi’s status for the season opener remains uncertain after suffering an ankle injury. He was Forest's top scorer in the Premier League last season with 10 goals.

Forest will take comfort in the fact that they defeated the Gunners 1-0 at home last season, per Sky Sports.

Their last away win against Arsenal came in March 1989 when they defeated the Gunners 3-1 at Highbury.
