Trying to settle the football GOAT debate is no easy task.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have both had stellar careers, but most footballers have a preference over who they think has achieved more.
Georgia Stanway is not like most footballers. The England women's star recently weighed in on the GOAT debate, but opted to choose neither of the players.
The midfielder, who is currently on duty with the Lionesses at the FIFA Women’s World Cup, participated in a quiz in which she was asked to pick between certain players.
When the question came to choosing between the Portuguese and Argentinian superstars, Stanway was lost for words at first. The English star then opted for the safer option by not choosing neither of them.
The attacking midfielder also picked Erling Haaland over Kylian Mbappe, Andres Iniesta over Luka Modric, and Ronaldinho over Neymar Junior.
While she couldn’t settle the GOAT debate, Stanway will be hoping to help England to achieve GOAT status in New Zealand and Australia.
The Lionesses will take on Colombia in the quarter-finals of the tournament, looking to take one step closer to greatness. The English can emulate the Germans who were European and World Champions at the same time.
