  • During their preparations for the new season, Barcelona players got a chance to perform alongside Daddy Yankee
  • The Puerto Rican superstar recently did an entertaining jam session with Barca players
  • Yankee is famous for hits like 'Despacito' and 'Gasolina'

Barcelona and their shirt sponsor Spotify have released a video showing Barcelona players and Despacito and Gasolina hitmaker, Daddy Yankee in a jam session in the studio.

The video was probably recorded earlier this month when the La Liga Champions were in the USA for their pre-season tour.

In a video released by Spotify via their Instagram page, Daddy Yankee was trying to see if he could create harmony with the players in the studio as they do on the football pitch.

The Puerto Rican superstar played the piano alongside Robert Lewandowski. Other players played the tambourine, while others focused on the drums and snare drums.

The result wasn't a chart-topper, but it had some rhythm and funk like Yankee's music. The 46-year-old star is one of the biggest music stars in the world, and Despacito, a song he was featured in, is one of the most viewed videos in the world with 8.2 billion views.

The Spanish giants are set to open their 2023/24 La Liga season against Getafe on Saturday, August 13th. The club has not made any major signings this summer but are close to selling Ousmane Dembele to Paris Saint-Germain, per Sky Sports.

Lewandowski thrills fans with skills

Barcelona striker Lewandowski was seen in a video performing a famous juggling skill synonymous with former Brazilian star, Ronaldinho Gaucho.

The video, labelled as “The Lewy Show”, has been met with brilliant reactions from football fans around the globe.

The Pole joined Barcelona from Bayern Munich last summer and is one of the club's most important players, playing a crucial role in the club’s chase for a first La Liga title win in four years.

Barcelona registered just 13 players

Meanwhile, Sports Brief reported on Barcelona registering only 13 players ahead of the new La Liga season, which kicks off this weekend.

New signings like Ilkay Gundogan, Oriol Romeu, Inigo Martinez, and players with new deals are yet to be registered with the Spanish league.
