Al Nassr will face Al Hilal in the final of the competition on Saturday, and Ronaldo could lift his first trophy with the club since joining in February.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner singlehandedly sent his team into the final after scoring in the club's last four games.

The tournament serves as a curtain raiser to the main season, with the Saudi Pro League set for a competitive campaign following the arrivals of Karim Benzema, N'Golo Kante and other European stars, as reported by MSN.

In their semifinal encounter against Al Shorta, played at the Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Stadium on Wednesday, August 9, the 38-year-old's second-half penalty proved decisive, securing the vital victory.

Having advanced to the last four for the first time after a span of thirty years by triumphing over Raja Casablanca, the Knights of Nahd were eager to clinch their spot in the Grand Finale on Saturday, August 12.

Polo reacts to Ronaldo claim

Former Ghanaian footballer, Mohammed Ahmed Polo, has revealed that he made Arab football more popular before the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia.

Mohammed Polo, as he is affectionately known around the world, played for the Emirati club Al Wasl between 1979 to 1984 and was the toast of fans around the Gulf.

In recent times, the Saudi Pro League has gained huge popularity with the likes of Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Sadio Mane all heading to Saudi Arabia.
