Sergio Ramos has gone viral after attempting a sliding tackle on Denilson during a recent charity game organised for Real Betis legend Joaquin Sanchez following his retirement last season.
The 37-year-old former Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain defender has a reputation for making hard tackles throughout his career and is never afraid to fight with an opponent.
According to Football Espana, Ramos, alongside other La Liga greats such as Roberto Carlos, Iker Casillas, Santi Cazorla, Jesus Navas and Raul Gonzalez, all featured in an all-star Real Betis team in the friendly game.
During the testimonial, fans were a bit bewildered after the 37-year-old defender pulled out from a rash sliding tackle after committing himself initially towards the tackle on the onrushing Denilson.
Joaquin, who brought the curtain down on a remarkable 23-year career, spent the entirety of his career with Real Betis club and was honoured by Ramos and several others.
Inter Miami fans want Ramos
Meanwhile, Inter Miami supporters have pleaded with the Major League Soccer club to reunite Lionel Messi with his former Paris Saint-Germain teammate Sergio Ramos, Sportskeeda reports.
Fans believe the 37-year-old’s arrival will greatly improve the club’s defence after conceding four goals against FC Dallas in the Leagues Cup.
Ramos and Messi joined PSG in 2021 after leaving Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively as free agents and both spent two seasons with the French club before leaving again when their contracts expired.
