  • Aubameyang endured a disastrous run of form with Chelsea during his one-year spell
  • The striker managed just three goals for the west Londoners, with one of those coming in the EPL
  • The Gabonese has since sealed a sensational summer move to Marseille

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has aimed one final dig at Chelsea after ending his miserable one-year spell with the Blues.

The Gabonese striker joined the Blues in the summer of 2022 from Barcelona, with the transfer earning him a stunning return to the Premier League.

Aubameyang left the English top flight in January 2022 after Arsenal cut ties with him following his fallout with Mikel Arteta.

His impressive performances at Barcelona saw Chelsea snap him up six months later.

However, his Stamford Bridge did not go according to plan, with the striker failing to live up to his billing.

According to The Mirror, Auba's disastrous run with Chelsea saw him make just 21 appearances in all competitions - mostly from the bench, scoring three times in the process.

Auba has since sealed a Chelsea exit, with the former Borussia Dortmund star joining Ligue 1 side Marseille.

Auba aims dig at Chelsea

The 34-year-old has now aimed a dig at Chelsea following his departure, attributing his struggles to behind-the-scenes issues at Stamford Bridge.

"I think it's simple to explain. The manner in which I was received by both the players and the staff, at Chelsea, the context was a bit different. Because I arrived at Chelsea in no small part due to Thomas Tuchel, and a week later, he had been sacked," Auba said in a video interview when asked why he failed to replicate his Barca form with the Blues.
“So the two contexts were not at all similar, it was not easy for me, and that had an influence.
"From there I basically didn’t play anymore. And then later there were problems of a different nature that were not my fault," he added.

Chelsea fans taunt Mount

Sports Brief earlier reported that Mason Mount has been targeted by fans for his dip in form this season.

In a video uploaded on Tiktok by journalist Amelia Dimoldenberg, Mount was spotted dancing, a video which has made some Chelsea fans taunt him after it made its way to Twitter.

ThatGuyLeee uploaded the video on Twitter and captioned it as the midfielder's highlights of the season.
