  • Sadio Mane's major move to Al-Nassr and the Saudi Pro League is said to be edging closer
  • The Bayern Munich winger is set to have his medical ahead of the groundbreaking move
  • The Senegalese had a poor 2022/23 in Germany but will now play with Cristiano Ronaldo

Sadio Mane's brief stint at Bayern Munich is edging closer, with the Senegal international expected to undergo a medical before completing a switch to Saudi Pro League side, Al-Nassr.

The 31-year-old had an underwhelming first season with the Bundesliga champions last season, with injury hampering his consistency.

According to Sky Sports, the Saudi Pro League outfit agreed to a £24 million deal with Bayern to sign the former Liverpool winger.

The report also added that Mane will earn more than €40mil per year with the club, meaning his weekly salary will total £650,000.

The AFCON, Premier League, and UEFA Champions League winner will reportedly sign a deal until 2027 and will earn around £136mil if he sees out the contract.

If the deal is completed, he will play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo. Al-Nassr have already signed Marcelo Brozovic, Seko Fofana, and Alex Telles this summer.

Mane will have his medical in Dubai today (Monday, July 31).

Mane's disappointing 2022/23 for Bayern

The ex-Southampton winger left Liverpool last summer after six years - having won 'everything' in England - and signed a three-year deal with Bayern.

Mane said he needed a new challenge, but last season was far from great. He scored only 12 goals in 38 appearances, per Transfermarkt.

He had an altercation with teammate, Leroy Sane, following a Champions League defeat by Manchester City in April and was subsequently suspended by the club.

Bayern coach, Thomas Tuchel later Mane did not meet expectations in the 2022/23 season.

Mane shuts down reporter

Sports Brief also reported on Mane shutting down a reporter who tried to ask him questions.

In a viral video, the winger was posing for a photo with a fan when the journalist approached.

Unlike his warm-hearted gesture towards the fan, Mane had a different approach to the reporter.
