Sadio Mane endured a difficult season with Bayern Munich in 2022/23.

Despite winning the Bundesliga with the German giants, his individual performances were less impressive and an off-the-pitch incident with Leroy Sane also marred his first season in the country.

However, the Senegalese forward reportedly wants to travel with the team for their pre-season tour of Asia amid an uncertain future for the winger.

With the Bavarians reportedly pursuing Harry Kane, the forward's career with the Bundesliga champions appears to be on a knife edge.

Bayern manager, Thomas Tuchel, recently gave a brutal assessment of Mane's first season in Germany:

"Basically, he had an unsatisfactory season and fell short of expectations. The competition is very high in the position where I see him at his strongest, with Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry," Tuchel commented.

The 31-year-old finished the season with just 12 goals in all competitions, his lowest return since playing in Ligue 2 with Metz back in 2011/12.

An injury, which forced him to miss the 2022 World Cup, hampered his campaign and he failed to reach the level many saw from him at Liverpool.

Mane keen on Bayern tour

According to German football expert, Christian Falk, the AFCON winner with Senegal still wants to travel with the team for the pre-season tour in Asia.

According to the club's official website, Bayern will tour Japan and Singapore from July 24 to August 3.

They will play against European champions, Manchester City (July 26), and J1 League outfit, Kawasaki Frontale (July 29), before facing the Senegalese star's former club on August 2.

Mane may still leave the club since it is the early days of the summer transfer window. He has been linked with a return to Liverpool and with a switch to Saudi Arabia's top flight.

Mane's agent denies Saudi reports

However, as Sports Brief also reported, Mane's manager has made a U-turn about the Senegalese star's immediate club football destination.

A report from transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, stated that initial talks between the player and teams from Saudi Arabia had taken place.

However, Bacary Cisse recently denied the rumored offers from clubs in the Middle East, claiming discussions had not taken place at all.
