Ghana defender, Alexander Djiku has joined Turkish Super Lig giants Fenerbache SK in the summer transfer window.

The 28-year-old signed a three-year deal with the option of a further year after leaving French Ligue 1 outfit Strasbourg following the end of his contract.

Djiku spent four years at Strasbourg, helping them secure survival last season after playing an important role as captain of the club.

We wish you many victories and championships with our Fenerbahce," wrote Fenerbache, confirming the defender's arrival on their official website.

Meanwhile, Djiku took to social media to thank Strasbourg and wished his now former club the best in the upcoming season.

"Dear Alsatians, I arrived here in 2019, 4 years, and a hundred games later, I am a happy and accomplished man. It is largely thanks to the Racing Club de Strasbourg I will never forget those moments at La Meinau, those crazy atmospheres, that fervor," he wrote on Twitter.

Sevilla interested in Djiku

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Sevilla reignited their interest in Ghana and Racing Club Strasbourg centre-back, Alexander Djiku in the winter transfer window.

The La Liga side were close to signing the Ghanaian in the summer transfer window, but the deal fell through at the eleventh hour.

According to French publication L'Equipe, Sevilla have submitted a 2 million-euro offer for the defender and are set to sign him in January.
