Nigerian super athlete Tobi Amusan on Wednesday evening, July 5, continued with her impressive performances in the track and field by winning her 4th national title at the ongoing national athletics trials in Benin.
This latest victory by Amusan came just a few days after she triumphed at the 2023 Diamond League in Stockholm, Sweden.
The Nigerian Athletics Federation board members are all in Benin City, Edo State, where they want to select the athletes that will represent the nation at the 19th World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
According to the reports on Sun and Pulse, Amusan effortlessly won her heat and did the same in the final, blazing over 10m clear ahead of second and third-placed finishers which was an incredible records.
Amusan bags master’s degree from US Varsity
Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Sensational Nigerian athlete, Tobi Amusan completed her master’s degree at the University of Texas El Paso in the United States.
The world record holder in the 100m hurdles captured and shared moments from her graduation ceremony, to the delight of her Instagram followers.
The 26-year-old narrated how it all started, adding that she was encouraged and inspired by a number of mentors.

Sports Brief also reported how Sensational athlete Tobi Amusan made history in 2022, becoming the first-ever Nigerian to win gold at the World Athletics Championships.
Not only did she dust others in her category, but the sensational sprinter also broke and set a new record in the semifinal when she finished in 12.12 seconds, smashing Kendra Harrison’s record of 12.20 seconds.
Amusan even went further in the final when she finished in 12.06 seconds, but that was disallowed as the World Athletics Integrity Unit claims it was ineligible as the wind speed was over the legal limit.
