FootballNot Messi or Ronaldo: Aubameyang Names the Football Star Who ‘Taught’ Him a Lot
- Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has attributed the player with the greatest impact on his career to his former Borussia Dortmund teammate
- He is regarded as one of the foremost strikers in the past decade, having scored over 300 career goals
- After a torrid campaign with Chelsea, Aubameyang has been given the green light to find a new club
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has revealed the footballer who had the most significant impact on his career.
Despite facing challenges during his return to the Premier League with Chelsea, the well-travelled striker has earned a revered reputation in his position over the past decade.
As Auba's future at Stamford Bridge remains uncertain, rumours have circulated about potential interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia as Chelsea aims to offload him.
Conversely, the 34-year-old has expressed a desire for a return to Barcelona, with hints on social media indicating his preference for a move to Camp Nou, Evening Standard reports.
During his time with La Blaugrana, the Gabonese forward recently highlighted Barcelona's impressive 4-0 victory over their El Clasico rivals, Real Madrid, as his standout game.
He also took time to heap praise on current Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski. “I love him. He is a player who has taught me a lot,” he said as quoted by Barca Universal.
Aubameyang and Lewandowski established a formidable strike partnership during their tenure at Borussia Dortmund, resulting in an impressive combined goal tally of 116 during their time playing together.
Auba sends Barca cryptic message
Sports Brief also reported that although Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is no longer a Barcelona player, he has expressed his enduring affection for the reigning La Liga champions.
The striker was spotted in the dressing room earlier this season after Barcelona beat Real Madrid in an El Clasico clash, which did not go down well with his current club side, Chelsea.
Reports suggest the gesture was a way for Aubameyang to perhaps secure his return to the Spanish club. His latest social media activity may not impress the Blues either, with the striker showing off his love for Barcelona again.
