Rice will join Enzo Fernandez as England’s most expensive buys after Chelsea broke the British transfer record to sign the Argentine midfielder for €121m from Benfica in January, The Guardian reports.

Neymar still holds the record of the most expensive player in the history of football after Paris Saint-Germain shelled out a massive €222m for the Brazilian superstar from Barcelona in 2017.

Here, Sports Brief lists the top 15 players bought for over €100million after Jude Bellingham’s move to Real Madrid and Rice’s recent deal with Arsenal.

Rice: Biggest winners and losers

Earlier, Sports Brief reported the arrival of Declan Rice could spell bad news for some Arsenal players, including Ghanaian Thomas Partey, who struggled with injuries last season.

Granit Xhaka is another player who could find himself on the chopping board as far as departures are concerned as Arsenal could look to cash in on him as he enters the final 12 months of his contract.

Despite two midfielders being at risk of losing their place in Mikel Arteta’s squad, there are other players that could potentially reap from the transfers.
