Sports Brief looks at six footballers who were forgiven by their partners after alleged infidelity was made public.

1. Wayne Rooney

The Manchester United legend has been accused of a series of extra-marital affairs, all of which have reportedly been overlooked by his wife, Coleen. The pair are still together and raising four boys, the oldest of which is Kai (12).

Rooney had four alleged incidents in 2004 before the two married in 2008, including with 48-year-old Patricia Tierney. Since then, he has been accused of four more affairs, as recently as 2021. Publication, Her, reports that Coleen has chosen to stick with the former footballer because she fears divorce will ruin their boys.

2. John Terry

Chelsea captain and club legend, John Terry, was caught up in an alleged extra-marital affair with the girlfriend of his club and country teammate, Wayne Bridge in 2011. Sports Mole reports that Fabio Capello stripped him of the English captaincy when the alleged cheating with Vanessa Perroncel went public.

Terry married his wife, Toni Poole, in 2007 and despite the allegations, the two have remained together and have been raising their twins, George and Summer.

3. Olivier Giroud

The French striker reportedly invited model, Celia Kay, to his hotel before a Premier League game in 2014 during his time at Arsenal. Kay denied being physical with him, but the striker apologised for the incident regardless. His wife, Jennifer, is a very private person but stuck with him.

4. Andy Carroll

According to Mirror UK, the former Liverpool striker was alleged to have cheated days before his wedding to reality TV star, Billi Mucklow. A photo of Carroll in bed with a woman surfaced online, but the wedding went ahead anyway.

5. Raheem Sterling

The 27-year-old Chelsea winger was accused of having affairs on multiple occasions but was forgiven each time by Page Milian. She did shove a woman for twerking for the former Manchester City striker on his 25th birthday.

6. Peter Crouch

The former Liverpool striker had a similar case to Carroll. Crouch was allegedly caught with a prostitute, Monica Mint, two months before his wedding. His partner, Abbey Clancy - who was pregnant with their first child - forgave him and the planned nuptials went ahead.

Belle Silva’s message to Neymar

Sports Brief also reported that Belle Silva sent a message to Neymar after the PSG star publicly apologised to his girlfriend for alleged unfaithfulness.

The wife of Chelsea star, Thiago Silva, advised the couple to be the determinants of what their relationship would be if they were to stay happy together.
