  • Percy Tau is finding his peak form for Al Ahly and the South African national team in recent months
  • Tau's recent performances have seen him linked with a move back to European football next season
  • Pitso Mosimane believes that Tau needs to consider whether he will get game time in European football

Percy Tau is open to a move back to Europe, but Pitso Mosimane has cautioned him against rushing a decision.

The Al Ahly attacker has been linked with a move back to the continent after an impressive run of performances for Al Ahly and the South African national team.

Tau was instrumental as Al Ahly won the CAF Champions League and also played a starring role as Bafana Bafana beat Morocco to top their AFCON qualifying group.

With Tau showing what he can do when he plays regularly and reaches his potential, the former Mamelodi Sundowns player has been linked with a European transfer.

As noted by Times LIVE, Tau has left the door open to a possible move.

“Whenever I am playing well, there will always be talks of a European move, but I will always take the opportunity to go back to Europe if it becomes available. At the moment, I am still at Al Ahly,” he said.

While Tau is open to a move, his former manager has cautioned him against rushing a decision.

Mosimane, who managed the player at Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly, urged Tau to think about his decision, Soccer Laduma reported.

"Percy moved to Europe earlier, and it’s not for me to say what happened. He did well in the Belgian First Division, and that put him in the Belgian Pro League and the Premier League, which in my opinion, is the best in the world," Mosimane said.
"He moved to the Premier League, struggled there, and was not playing. So would you want to stay with a team and not play football? If you can be paid the same or even better and you have the chance to play in the FIFA Club World Cup and CAF Champions League, for the best team on the continent, where would you want to be?" he asked.

As noted by Transfermarkt, Tau made just six appearances for Brighton in the EPL. He played for Royale Union Saint Gilloise, Club Brugge KV, and RSC Anderlecht in Belgium.

EPL team interested in Tau

Burnley are heading back to the English Premier and are looking to bolster the squad ahead of the new season.

With the Premier League in their future, the Clarets are said to be looking to deepen the South African flavour in their team, Sports Brief reported.

It has been reported that influential Al Ahly and Bafana Bafana midfielder, Percy Tau, is solidly on manager Vincent Kompany's radar.
