Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah left fans speechless during the game between Egypt and Guinea in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Wednesday.

The prolific scorer endured a tough afternoon after making what could end up being the miss of the year following his inability to roll the ball into an empty net.

Salah had a golden opportunity to level for the Pharaohs just a minute after Guinea had taken the lead through Serhou Guirassy.

In a video shared on social media, Egypt winger Trezeguet forced a save from the Guinea goalkeeper; the ball fell right at the feet of Salah, who fired wide with an empty net right in front of him.

Meanwhile, the seven-time African champions recovered from conceding the early goal to win the game at the Stade de Marrakech.

Trezeguet scored the equalizer just before the break and with ten minutes remaining, Mostafa Mohamed netted the important winner as Egypt secured their qualification to the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, as reported by SuperSport.

Salah will be hoping to win the competition for the first time with Egypt after two final defeats, reported ESPN.

Salah spends time with family

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Salah is taking full advantage of the end of a long season to spend time with his lovely family.

The Liverpool forward endured a tough campaign as Liverpool missed out on a top-four finish despite a late charge.

Salah scored 30 goals across all competitions as the English giants ended the season without a trophy.

Inkoom reveals Salah transfer role

Accra Hearts of Oak defender, Samuel Inkoom has claimed that he recommended Mohamed Salah to Swiss giants, FC Basel.

The FIFA U-20 World Cup winner said he spotted the Egyptian forward during an international assignment with the Black Stars.

Inkoom then informed FC Basel about the winger, with Salah eventually joining the Swiss outfit from El Mokowloon in 2012.
