Bad Day for Nigerians As Flying Eagles Crash Out at the World Cup After Loss Against South Korea

Flying Eagles of Nigeria on Sunday night, June 4, suffered an unexpected 1-0 defeat against South Korea in their quarter-final clash at the ongoing 2023 FIFA Under 20 World Cup.

Going into this encounter, coach Ladan Bosso and his wards were the favorites to progress to the semi-final having defeated the host nation Argentina 2-0 in the round of 16.

Ladan Bosso also assured all Nigerian fans that his players would do well against South Korea, but they were unable to soar this time around as their opponents were more determined to win.

The Flying Eagles started the match impressively looking for an early goal with Muhammad having the chance to open the scoring, but his shot was blocked in the 2nd minute.

The first half ended goalless

The first half of this duel ended goalless with Flying Eagles and South Korean players unable to find the back of the net.

And in the second half, South Korean players changed their style and they later punished the Flying Eagles.

Seok-Hyun Choi scored the only goal that gave South Korea their win in the 95th minute of the extra time.

South Korea have now qualified for the semi-final and will be looking forward to reaching the final.

Victor Osimhen flaunts daughter

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Nigerian international Victor Osimhen introduced his adorable daughter to the spotlight as Napoli welcomed Sampdoria in their final Serie A game of the season.

The 24-year-old led the Partenopei to the Scudetto this season, scoring 26 goals to finish as the top scorer.

And he was on the scoresheet again in their final match when he netted from the spot in the 64th minute.

But before the game, Osimhen took the opportunity to finally show off his beautiful daughter Hailey while thanking the Napoli fans for their remarkable support throughout their season.
