Manchester City playmaker, Kevin De Bruyne could reportedly miss the start of next season following his injury during the UEFA Champions League final.
The Belgian was part of the Citizens' starting XI during the final of the European tournament against Inter Milan, which was staged in Istanbul on June 10.
However, De Bruyne was unable to see out the match and had to be withdrawn after just 30 minutes of action.
According to Metro UK, the Belgian tore his hamstring after reportedly carrying an injury for weeks now.
It is understood De Bruyne had suffered several smaller strains to his muscle before unfortunately suffering a tear against Inter Milan.
When will De Bruyne return?
There are now fears the Manchester City superstar is set for a long layoff that could see him miss the start of next season. The 31-year-old was pivotal in City's historic treble-winning season.
The Telegraph reports that the severity of De Bruyne’s hamstring tear could have him out for three months.
Going by the timelines, the Belgian will undoubtedly miss City's pre-season campaign, as well as a few weeks heading into the start of next season.
