  • Fabio Capello believes English players struggle abroad because of the atmosphere in the Premier League
  • The Italian manager has stylishly cautioned Real Madrid ahead of their pursuit of Harry Kane
  • Real Madrid are bidding to sign Kane this summer in the summer as replacement for Karim Benzema

Real Madrid has actually been told to thread with caution in their bid to sign English players this summer after Los Blancos were linked with a move for Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

The La Liga giants who appeared to have wrapped up a deal for Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham, have been strongly linked with Kane this summer following Karim Benzema’s departure.

According to Football Espana, former Real Madrid manager Fabio Capello has highlighted why players from England struggle outside the English Premier League.

“The problem has been that, and then they also live without joy, they are not happy. They are not comfortable. When they play there, they do it 100%. I think they have no pressure from the media. They have no pressure from the people.”
“In Spain and Italy they do feel that pressure, because football is talked about every day, and there is media exposure, you know. In England, if they have won, then they have won; and if they have lost, then they have lost.”

Kane is set to follow in the footsteps of David Beckham, Michael Owen, and Jonathan Woodgate, who all had spells with Real Madrid. Still, only Beckham was considered to have a successful career in the Spanish capital.

Madrid confident of Kane’s signing

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are confident in signing Harry Kane for as little as £68million, with the Englishman’s contract with Tottenham set to expire in 2024, Football London reports.

Tottenham owner Daniel Levy has made no secret of his desire to keep the England captain in North London but is open to letting Kane leave for the right price this summer.

Kane has remained coy on his future, refusing to be drawn on speculation which connects him with a summer move to the 14-time Champions League winners.

Ancelotti wants Kane at Madrid

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has pleaded with the club's executives to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham in the summer.

Kane has one year left on his contract with Spurs, and a bidding war for his services in the upcoming transfer window appears to be imminent.

Los Blancos are one of the teams keeping an eye on the star striker after Ancelotti expressed an interest during heated discussions with the club's management.
