  • Carlo Ancelotti has urged the Real Madrid board to go all out for Harry Kane
  • There remain question marks about Karim Benzema's long-term future with Real Madrid
  • Kane will become a free agent in 2024 when his contract with Tottenham expires

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has pleaded with the club's executives to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham in the summer.

Kane has one year left on his contract with Spurs, and a bidding war for his services in the upcoming transfer window appears to be imminent.

The Athletic reports that Los Blancos are one of the teams keeping an eye on the star striker after Ancelotti expressed an interest during heated discussions with the club's management.

The Italian tactician met with president Florentino Perez and general manager Jose Angel Sanchez on Thursday at Real Madrid's Valdebebas practice facility.

The former Chelsea manager then requested the services of the England captain to bolster his attack in preparation for the upcoming season.

According to Daily Mail, Ancelotti will need to find a replacement center-forward if Karim Benzema leaves the Santiago Bernabeu after a legendary 14-year run amid persistent rumours linking him to Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia.

Kane remains United’s top target

Meanwhile, Manchester United have identified Harry Kane as the club’s primary transfer target this summer as the Red Devils continue their search for a marquee striker, Sky Sports reports.

The Red Devils have long admired the 29-year-old forward and will test Tottenham’s resolve this season by making a bid for Kane this summer.

Erik ten Hag has also listed Declan Rice and Mason Mount as the other two players Manchester United will try to sign, as they hope to challenge Manchester City for the league next season.

Kane vague about Tottenham future

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Harry Kane is not making it clear where his future lies amidst reports he could leave Tottenham, as he continues to attract interest from all over Europe.

The English striker is Tottenham and England’s all-time top scorer, equalling and surpassing Jimmy Greaves and Wayne Rooney’s records this season.

He has one significant drawback in his career- he has yet to win a trophy. He is already approaching 30 years, with many advising him to quit the North London club to join a winning team.
